About Nick
Nicolas Rapp is the Graphics Director at Fortune Magazine (Time Inc.). Previously, he was the Art Director for the Associated Press Interactive Design & Graphics Department based in New York City, Tokyo and Washington, D.C. The AP distributes graphics and interactives to thousands of newspapers, magazines and websites around the world in a variety of format and styles, including hand drawing, 3-D, high-level mapping, web applications and vector art.As the Art Director, he was responsible for selecting the information and stories the AP will cover in graphic format, communicating with the other departments within the AP and helping the department thirty visual journalists present the most compelling infographics and interactives.
Before being named art director, Nick was a senior graphic designer at the AP in New York and a graphic and multimedia visual journalist for the AP in Paris, France. He has covered various top breaking news stories, including the wars in Afghanistan, Iraq and Lebanon and the 2004 and 2008 U.S. presidential elections. He has traveled to cover various events.
He has also worked design companies in France, newspapers, economic magazines and books. He has consulted in the redesign of several European newspapers and is a consultant for 5W Mignon Media.
Nick has won several Society of Newspaper Design awards for his graphic designs.
