Cash Hoarders
As corporate cash levels rise, tech sector remains dominant. Cash and liquid investments at US non-financial companies are poised to rise about 5% to $1.77 trillion at the end of 2016. The top five cash holders – Apple, Microsoft, Google parent Alphabet, Cisco Systems and Oracle — are projected to hold a cumulative $587 billion in cash, or 33% of the total non-financial corporate cash balance at the end of calendar 2016.
